With over 15 million player accounts being created since release, Battlefield 2 is still going strong. On the forums we often see discussions about whether there will ever be another update for the game. Well, today we are happy to announce that we are working on an update for Battlefield 2. We are planning to provide an open beta in the near future and we hope you’ll give us your feedback before final release; so watch out for that.
Keep an eye on www.Battlefield.com for information on what we are working on, release dates and don’t forget to visit our forums.
In the mean time Battlefield Bad Company is released worldwide this week and we expect it will keep you occupied while we work on the update.

With the help of our community and partners we have located and shut down a number of modified servers which were being used for sending inflated scores to the stats leaderboards. During this crackdown process we have also wiped over 1000 players of their stats to best protect the leaderboard integrity. Some players may have joined these modified servers during the time they were active and found their profiles reset. This reset can not be undone as all resets have been fully investigated by the Support team and proven to be invalid scores.
We are continuing to work with our server providers to prevent these servers appearing but be aware there are some servers that could inflate your scores artificially so we suggest trying to play on servers you trust and know.
Please report any servers or players you suspect of cheating and/or padding to EA Customer Support through the website at http://support.ea.com.

It is always our commitment to work to prevent cheating and stat padding as part of an ongoing process. After the problems brought to light recently we have been working with the Ranked Server Providers to bring the stat padding to an end as well as dealing with those who have been using the exploit to boost their scores. Since the problem was detected, we have reset over 700 accounts of players found to be padding and will continue to do so whilst we secure the ranking system from future attacks. Please report any servers or players you suspect of cheating and/or padding to EA Customer Support through the website at http://support.ea.com.

After a successful open beta phase of
Battlefield 2142 Update 1.50 and tweaks and updates being made based on
feedback on the forums we have released the final version of
Battlefield 2142 Update 1.50. Servers are being updated and the client
files are now available for you to update and get into the new content.
As we mentioned with the Beta release we have added a number of new features and added new content to Update 1.50
FEATURES
- Added community maps, Wake Island 2142 and Operation Shingle
- Added the ability to use widescreen resolutions.
- Added No Vehicles mode.
- Added Conquest Assault mode.
- Changed the volume control for the Commander Voice Over on request of the esports community.
- Changes made to pod steering mechanism to improve control while limiting pod surfing.
FIXES
- Fixed the loading issue caused by corrupt Radial.cdb file
- Various changes made to prevent cheating.

The clan stats field has been updated for =)RS(= members. By clicking on a heading in the red box the list will sort itself kills, deaths, etc
The Frontlines game information is now active

It was really exciting to see the servers fill up
fast this morning. Within an hour we hit our first limit on the
European servers. After we had successfully tested capacity we noticed
significant lag in the gameplay and that players in the feedback forums
were quick to pick up on this!
We’re working with the number of servers we can have running to improve
the experience, and looking into other issues that will improve
performance over the coming days. These first few hours have been
really valuable for us, we appreciate your patience as we work to
resolve the issues.
One of the things reducing performance is the amount of logging we do
while Beta testing the game. As soon as we feel that we have the
information we need we will be able to reduce the logs and performance
will improve even more. Trust us, we hate lag too =)

I've set the cod4 server up to stream to pbbans, verified streaming this morning

Having the server streaming has stopped 165 hackers from joining the server, the majority of these had been caught with aimbots. Read more for the full list

I've set the 32 player server to BF2 for the last couple of days. It's set to karkand only, if anyone wants a map change let me know

It has been brought to our attention that
there are hacked ranked servers running which allow the artificial
increase of player scores. We are working with all parties involved to
shut these servers down, prevent further use of the ranked servers for
padding purposes and resetting those player accounts which have been
found to be stat padding.
